... head….goooodddd jobbb!!! That’s my rant for the day!
Well after that we looked for the spas and couldn’t find where to go and then we looked for the tourist office and couldn’t find where to go and we looked for parking and couldn’t find where to go….overall Karlovy Vary was a bust for us so before the frustration set in we decided to head on out to our next destination. Life’s too short to look for parking!
we finally arrive, after twisting jules arm relentlessly, but too late for the bus, cannot wait for two more hours, so we jump in a taxi only to find we have booked ourselves into the gulag, no i mean it. we are staying in prisoner cell block F. we think of crying, but dont want to show fear to the locals.
we do manage to find a ...
... other complaints.
We enjoyed our stop even though it wasn’t what we were expecting. We have a cute little china cup for our Christmas tree decoration.
We are close to the German border so we use all our Krouns for diesel and leave Czech Republic. It most certainly is a beautiful country along the west side. We passed fields and fields of poppyflower heads. It must have been beautiful when they were all in bloom!
... sausages for lunch. Was half cut - half a litre of beer with jetlagg...interesting combination.
Flew from Prague on the dodgiest little plane, Jarrad was pulling sticky tape off the cabin and announcing outloud that we might not make it alive. Hmmmmm they also made the mistake of asking him to complete the customer survey...
Went out on the bikes yesterday to explore town. Amazing - bus loads of tourists arrive here daily. Photos don't do it justice.
... then enjoyed a lunch of duck, dumplings and sweet and sour cabbage. I swear Greece and Czech Republic have the best food in the world. I am going to miss it. We will return tomorrow to Amsterdam to connect with our flight home. We are hoping to make the Anne Frank museum if the lines are not too long.
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic tdennissteel... goods everywhere along with cheap Vietnamese electronics etc. The fun was walking and looking but we did get a few treasures also. At the end we had a nice cold yummy Czech beer while the vendors packed up. The stuff they don't feel like packing uo is left behind and it's a free for all so you just rummage thru and take what you want-if you can beat the Gypsies to it! We actually got some of the best stuff this way! Teta Kvyeta took us to the Moser glass ...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic polloslibre... are flat crisp wafers filled with a hazlenut/sugar flavoring about 10" round. They are exported around the world but here is the only place you can have one fresh hot off the press, so we did, several in fact. (my parents used to buy them for my sisters and I on the promanade, and the same shops still exists) We'll continue with more exploits from Karlovy Vary in the next update. Nashledanow (Goodbye in Czech) Celina and Mirek/Pollos Libres
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic polloslibre... few days which was awesome, then we flew on to Amsterdam for a few days. That place is beautiful. We ate some fantastic food and had a great time looking around the canals and seeing a few sights like the Anne Frank and Van Gogh's artwork. Craig met us in Amsterdam and we then took a flight to Denmark to go see my friends and family and show Craig a little ...
Cheb, Bohemia, Czech Republic ryanislost... to walk a very long distance to find ourselves at the train station, board on the train which was basic to say the least..... and arrive in Prague OVER 3 HOURS LATER grrrrrr You may want to issue return tickets when visiting Karlovy Vary... Before leaving, do try those big round wafers. You may also buy special cups and try the thermal water, but it may get messy as they advise it may be tough on your stomach... Even so, the place is crawling with WC about every hundred meters...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic perl... becuase it has no preservatives (the Czech's are the number one beer drinking nation...so they don't need to bother giving it a shelf life...it just goes...) and thus your tummy and head still feel lovely in the morning! In the morning we rode the funicular (a train that goes up the mountain in Karlovy Vary) to the top and got some great pics of the city...we had lunch up there ...
