After getting up and getting a taxi to the bus station we got a few snacks and waited for our bus to Chiang Rai. The journey consisted of about 3 hours of lurching, twisting and turning through the Thai countryside (I regretted not taking travel sickness pills) before we finally got to Chiang Rai.
