... a little cloudy so you couldn't see the mountains that well. The city was so cute I did a self guided walking tour around then enjoyed a nice glass of wine at one of the restaurants by the river. In the evening I went over to Anne's place to join her and her boyfriend for dinner. It was nice to meet him and to visit more and nice not to eat at a ...

... traffic. The roads wound up and around the sides of the mountains and it was an amazing experience to drive there. For part of the drive we were at the highest we had been, around 2100 feat, wow. We had two stops along the way, the second being longer as it was for lunch. Sunday afternoon concluded a 2 day weekend full or racing in Sarnen, Switzerland. We did well Sunday afternoon in the finals, earning gold, silver and/or bronze medals in almost every event that we entered, including the senior eight, straight four and pair. Sarnen is an absolutely breathtaking town that i wasn't able to fully capture with my iPhone camera. The lake has crystal blue water and is surrounded on three sides by beautiful ...

... were a bit tired. We got back and headed to the hotel to ask about a good place for dinner. We knew we had to get moving or we would be out for the night. We ended up walking to an Italian restaurant and had a nice dinner outside. I had a ravioli with spinach and ricotta and Marlin had risotto with shrimp. Nice change from fried meats!! We stopped in our way back for some gelato (Swiss chocolate for me and Carmel for Marlin). I think we were back 15 minutes before it was lights out!! What a ...

    Calais to Sarnen.

Didn't get much sleep last night, the hotel ranks as a one of the worst. Noisy, uncomfortable, not en suite, you get the picture.

Went for the basic breakfast and then the plan was to meet the rest of the rally at a car park in Calais at approx. 8:30am.

First though, the day 1 fancy dress, I have to say we were both killing ourselves laughing getting ...
