... you need one to travel on their Highways… silly us (I had previously investigated and came to the conclusion we did not need one),… so I had to present all my documents in the rain and then they had to find someone to translate…. Put simply we got a $50 EUR fine for not having a $10 EUR sticker on our windscreen to say we had paid the highway fees… dam.

High above the alpines amongst the clouds, I gaze upon the pine trees and valley towns. Birds echo along the foothills as clouds scoot up the ravine, perched on a granite boulder, I enjoy the stillness. Passing the ridge we venture down through the trees to the distant sound of water. Purple and yellow flowers line the edge of the grassy granite path as we venture upon the mountain ridge towards Mt Chleb. The fresh alpine air cleanses my lungs from the metropolis's stain. ... our rooms, then heading back down to meet the rest of the group at 11.30 for an "orientation walk" around the town. Zakopane itself is just beautiful! It's in amongst the mountains and most of the houses are made of wood, with the most beautiful engravings and craftmanship. It really is just beautiful!
