    ... out from crevices in the rock face, all caused by methane gas! The popular thing to do there is to toast marshmallows over the flames. Some people even braai sausage!!! We were very chuffed with ourselves for getting to the top and making it down in the dark and as Mike and Linda both said "wouldnt my oncologist and cardiologist be proud of me now!!"

    Today was designed to be a vacation from touring, a day to do whatever you wanted.     ... looking around at beautiful mountain scenery. After the hikers returned we all had a delicious trout lunch.

    Another couple of hours down the mountains and we were on the coastal plateau known as the Turquoise Coast. Fairly flat land, much warmer, roses were blooming, resort hotels and lots of fancy stores for the rich tourists who came to shop. Fields were being readied for planting, traffic was heavy, temperature went up quickly into 75+.
