      ... From my brief research months ago, I thought there were ample hostels and cheap lodging options, but I was mistaken. After a lot of searching, I did however find the guesthouse I stayed at on Airbnb for $25 per night. It was very nice with a pool, modern amenities, queen bed, and breakfast was apparently included. Rajen didn't speak English very well so our conversation was very broken. When I arrived I asked if there were other people staying at the guesthouse. "Oh yes"! ...

      The flight was uneventful, though we flew into pretty heavy rain around Mauritius. Since I know the drill at the airport, I am usually able to get through formalities quickly and tonight it was so. I picked up the tiny rental car and the agent walked me out to the parking lot under a large umbrella.
