... Pradesh and therefore in the Himalayas and at the top of the valleys so most things are below so the views were amazing and the air much cleaner that the cities. The best part was that because there was no Tuk tuks and in the town centre cars were prohibited it was really quiet. It was like being in heaven, and of corse it was cooler, and it rained!! Whoo hoo..

... was hard work. The walk became a hike. We passed village and mountain women, cutting grass with sickles or looking after deathly thin livestock. We passed a hill school where the children were having an exam outside, sat in a perfect grid on the playground floor. I wasn't allowed to take a photo, but did notice one unruly child throwing pebbles at another when the teacher's back was turned.

We boarded the Shivalik express at 17:30 and arrived in Kalka about 6 hours ...
