... were not much help so we passed the next 90 mins in companionable silence. The girls all had a doze. When we got to the gate at Tikal there is a 150 quetzal entrance fee per person (about $25) but that is for the current day. You can't buy tickets for the next day until 3pm and you can't go through to get to your hotel until then unless you are willing to pay an extra day admission. ... Minutes after putting my shorts on I felt something moved behind my left thigh. I quickly grabbed it through by shorts to try and kill it but then came the pain. I had been stung by a scorpion! Lucky there are no seriously dangerous ones here so after a bit of pain I was ok. Another one to tick of the bucket list! We then had dinner, looked through some of my photos and introduced the Canadian girls to Westlife. Good ...

... cards in the lobby with a few people for a while before deciding we wanted to check out what was going on outside, Juan Pablo didn't think it was safe enough for us to be out on our own so he came with us. We couldn't believe how empty the square was, there was a loud babbling DJ and pounding music and quite a few locals stood watching but no one at all was dancing in the middle. We were tempted to but didn't want to look like attention seeking lunatics so ...
