... were not much help so we passed the next 90 mins in companionable silence. The girls all had a doze. When we got to the gate at Tikal there is a 150 quetzal entrance fee per person (about $25) but that is for the current day. You can't buy tickets for the next day until 3pm and you can't go through to get to your hotel until then unless you are willing to pay an extra day admission. There is a restaurant at the gate that ...

Seeing her ...

... to see how bright this little bit of light felt following being completely in the dark. Shortly thereafter we made it back to the entrance of the cave, swam out and walked half hour back to the parking lot. We had a great lunch in the parking lot and then changed into warm clothes for the ride back into town. We both agreed that this experience was one of the coolest things we've ever done. It was completely different for us and we had never been that up close and personal to ...

... hours to do all the paperwork. Fortunately after 2 hours we got a taxi to the nearest town and went for pizza and cocktails. I tried a Michaelada which is beer with spices and ice and tomato juice. Quite quite strange. The heavens opened just at the point we had to go shopping for dinner so I was trolling round town looking for decent meat absolutely soaked through to my skin. No time to change or dry off when we got to the Posada as it was late and lots of cooking to do. Unfortunately ...
