Clean, cheap, contemporary & modern furnishing, strategic location (3mins walk to beach and beach front shopping area).

      Would have given 5 stars:
      - if not for the inconsistent water heater flow, 1 minute hot, another minute cold.
      - Internet facility is not free, have to purchase credit.

... We basically traveled all day and reached the hotel ok. We got to the hotel around 6pm so most of the day had gone. We checked in at our hotel then went for a long walk along the beach, it was really pretty and dead quiet. All of the restaurants were on the beach front with chairs and tables looking out to the sea. So we found a nice place and ...

... them. We are not sure what this is all about but we've seen it happen numerous times over the past few days now. We had a pretty quiet evening after that. Headed out for tea and then had a night in with some Risen chocolates which we found that had been important in, it was good to have a proper taste of something from home. We tried to watch TV but there wasn't any English channels so we played stupid games, entertaining ourselves by being stupid for a couple of hours before we hit the ...

      Railay Beach

A travel blog entry by dandrummond on Apr 25, 2014

... wasn't much of a beach on the east side of Railay, it's where the hotels and bars are. Very different to what we had seen in past and not what I expected. With tide out it looked dirty and dull. So after checking in we showered and set off to find food. The hotel had a pool which was inviting to most as the beach on the east was non existent. So when I Said I was going exploring after lunch no one wanted to join me. ...

... pitched up and we were crammed in along with all our baggage. It was, to say the least a tight squeeze and I was jammed up against a lady from Yorkshire (they get everywhere) who then wasted the interesting drive through semi jungle, looking at a film on her tab with her husband.

Eventually we arrived in Krabi and disembarked for the last leg of the journey to our hotels. Happily, the Yorkshire lady managed to finish her film ...

... it though and we missed the sunset due to cloud, but it was still a great place to be to sit and watch the island. After dinner we ended up in a bar with a live Thai covers band playing random 80s/90s music and they were really good fun. After making friends with a big group of South Africans and a few beers later we ended up in Slinkys, the famous Phi Phi beach party! As with most unplanned nights out we ended up having a great time just talking to different people ...
