Where Everybody Knows Your Name

It's easy to make jokes about the Basque people: about their sheep-herding, isolationist culture; their radical politics; or their bizarre language, which looks like a cross between Greek and Pig Latin. The capital city of Basque country also gets a bad rep. People gush about the Guggenheim, but then they warn us that that's the only thing worth seeing in Bilbao.

1st Night
... outside with your friends. Lacking the friends part, I sat at the bar in a quieter place (some were absolutely packed) and had a beer and some yummy spanish food (slices of baguette with jamon/brie/anchovies/prawns wrapped in strands of potato, fried/chorizo on top).
Then I fell asleep watching TV, woke up at 1am, and promptly fell asleep again. I slept through the night, which was good.
