... we headed to Pyrgos and from here up to the highest point on Santorini – the Monastery of Prophet Ilias. the view from here appears to go forever. My main observation after our strenuous day of walking the day before was that climbing mountains is easier in a car.
Continuing our exploration we went back down the mountain then around a bit to Kamari Beach where we promptly headed back up the same mountain we had just come down from, but this time on the other ...
... buildings with stunning caldera backdrops that you will need another memory card. It took us almost an hour to reach the village of Imerovigli, another town perched impossibly on the top of the cliffs. Although there was nothing open in this town except the supermarket, this allowed us to get the water we needed (but not the coffee stop we craved...)
We were told that the walk to Oia is two hours, but the literature (once we read it) said 3 hours. We took more than four ...

Jake: "someone, get in the ****en cab, now"

Jake: "I'll come get you....
Jake had rented a scooter earlier that day....
Now, imagine it's 530am, I'm trashed, I'm sure jake is, yet, I got on
the scooter and proceeded to hang onto Jake's body for dear life. At
one point I thought it would be a idea to take a picture while he was
riding it...and that concludes day two.
... size bed, and 2 twin beds. I knew that Colin would end up spending the night so I just switched rooms with him. I twas gonna be fun sharing a room with Peter and Chitty. Waking up the next morning was great. I put my bikini on and spent the entire day by the pool working on my tan. That evening we went out to the village to enjoy a night of bar hopping. I was amazed about how all the clubs only opened at midnight and closed the next morning. We had to climb about a km beofre we got into ...
Ios, Cyclades, Greece karinakrStill here still here. Ahhh!! Why is it so hard to leave I do not know. Actually it's pretty easy to figure out. I get to suntan on a beach all day in the heat with the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore all day everyday and I am loving it. It's so hard to leave, I am just in the rhythm here. I really don't have much to report as that pretty much sums up what I do here everyday. I really could have stayed for the summer, alas I could NOT handle this place in ...
Ios, Greece steph_444Help! This was probably a bad choice, and the travel agent told us so, but Joe insisted that we see Ios, also known by the Irish as "Irish Over Seas". Maybe during the summer, but near winter? NOOOOO! Joe and I arrived on a 90 minute ferry and was greeted by the owner of the hotel who was so nice, and drove us up to the hotel. She showed us the shortcuts to town, the supermarket and where to rent a car, but she forgot to tell us that everything was ...

And when we finally climb up to the top. We see this. This must be the archaeologists' toilet. I'm guessing it must be the toilet with the greatest view in all of Greece! Hahaha...
We get a very complete view of the Kamari beach from the Ancient Thira. I'm sure our hotel ...

... Dean) and slept until 2pm. Oops. Oh well, we realised later that thats what you do on ios. Sleep until midday then get up, go out at midnight to party. We walked our little white block pathway to the town and explored the shops. Really cute. Steps and winding corridors, easy to get lost but somehow really easy to find home. Had a breakfast crepe with egg bacon tomato cheese and onion. So yum. Went ...
