On Katherine's to do list from her 1976 trip to Europe after university was the hike down the Samaria Gorge. At 16 km, it is the longest gorge in Europe. It was a bridge too far then but not this time, 40 years later. This time we were staying in Hania which is the closest city to the Gorge. We booked a round trip bus from our hotel.
