... US per hour of bus travel here. For really slow dolmuses (small minvans that stop for anyone, anywhere) it's less. Dolmus translated means "stuffed" as in a stuffed cabbage roll. Although they can be crowded, they are no longer the dangerous, uncomfortable vans with people spilling out. Actually, they're usually newer and quite nice.

In Central Europe, we were paying about $6-8 per hour of travel, and in Scandinavia it would be at ...

There was another American couple next to us at the time so we talk it over and decide 3 for them, 4 for us and 1 lira each. Best deal we’ve found in Turkey yet. We stop in a kebap restaurant on the corner and get 2 chicken kebaps to go from a guy that speaks Turkish, English, and at least Italian ...

The last few weeks have been difficult.

There have been some work issues and I am there 48 hours in a week. So much for me hope of not working so much after moving to another country. Guess I should just admit I am a workaholic. The problems have really been draining. Then there was that little fact that it was Thanksgiving and it is my favorite holiday. I had to work and so I couldn’t cook (even if I was friends with grocery stores or had an oven). ...
