It was hot and humid. "Simar" is a local term for these conditions. Muggy, I would say.

We cycled about 5Km from our campsite to the base of hill and the park entrance. The fee was a very reasonable 6TL each.

We walked up a steep, stony path for about 20 minutes. despite some creaking bones I was pleased the lungs didn't complain too much except when we were walking behind people who were smoking! ...

... beach and spent the day in and out of the water, staring into the waves like a crazy person. I wanted to memorize the shifts in blues, greens, and silvers. ... route.

2 - Number of split zippers we found on our backpacks after one of our night bus trips. We discovered that two of our locked zippered compartments on our big backpacks had split zippers after arriving in Goreme. These backpacks were stored underneath the buses in closed luggage compartments, but somewhere during those many rest stops we suspect there was foul play with people messing with our bags. Nothing appeared to be missing and whoever was searching ...

... It's a great place to just hang out and relax. We rented a tiny bungalow room with our own bath. There is barely room to move, but it's all ours! At these tree house places, breakfast and dinner is included. We haven't had lunch, so we buy our lunch from the menu. It isn't very good, but we are hungry and it fills the space! After lunch, we head to the beach. We have no idea that we will be walking through a really interesting Roman ...
