We finally made a break for it and got completely wet on the 30 minute hike to the van. Since we were soaked and it was raining we decided to get a cabin at the campground, a small wooden shelter for us to hang out in. We had dinner and wine and cuddled up covering the whole floor with sleeping bodies.

... climbing all day in the sun on a crisp October day. We climbed some warmups, a great overhanging 7a, and 2 long routes, one 40m and the other 35m, on steep faces both rate 7b+ (5.12c). Amazing climbing on pockets and edges with distinct cruxes but long and sustained as well, perfect.

That night we chose to eat at the restaurant at the campground, so we had some cold beers and Paella for 9 people. ...

... you felt you might regret them in a few hours time, especially if you knew you had a change of hotel, a train journey and a new city to cope with the following day. Common sense prevailed, or tiredness overtook us - I can't recall which - and we finally made it back to bed sometime around 3 a.m. We left the windows open in our hotel rooms because there were still loads of people on the square having fun but we were asleep in seconds and I didn't hear much of anything until waking up after 9.

... Petit. We reckoned we'd walked far enough, so standing in a queue didn't have much appeal but with and hour to go before the performance the idea of sitting outside a cafe drinking Vichy Catalan (other drinks are available) did.

Serrallonga, real name Joan Sala i Ferrer, was a seventeenth century Catalan bandit who has become almost legendary as the centuries have progressed and we watched groups of youngters in costume re-enact episodes from his life.
