After devouring our meals we began walking to the beach. And it was at this time (8:02 pm) that we realized we were on the opposite side of the beach from the fireworks... that had just started.

Oh well. We made due with what we had and enjoyed a beautiful show. Accompanied by our own voices singing Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. But only the ending, because that is the best part, and it reminded us of V for Vendetta. And ...

Instead, we found a giant room with no less than 50 different counters selling every kind of food imaginable: Korean foods, western style burgers, sandwiches and wraps, cupcakes and tarts, pretzels and pizza, stir fry noodles, ice cream, coffee and even Indian food. Just before leaving the site we were taken for coffees in what is the memorabilia hall which holds many wartime pictures, photos from the UNMCK developing over the years including the first U.N. flag used by the U.N. command during the course of the war.
This has been another very reflective and emotional day.

We returned to the coaches and headed back to Busan station to catch the KTX to Seoul ...
