... the rocks around it - we just watched in awe as it thundered below us.

With much yawning in the back - these were long days (out from 10 am - 9pm) we were on the main road home when a gorgeous young bear crossed the road in front of us. He was clearly on a mission as he didn’t wait round - but it was a lovely way to round off the day.

Then it was back ...

... hump’ first. Can’t say I could see it at all, but we trekked in to search further. After 10 minutes Paul indicated that we should all crouch low and the next thing is we could hear him / her padding through the undergrowth. I can’t explain the mix of excitement and fear that I felt at that moment. Next thing I knew I was looking down at a beautiful Black Bear who was simply grazing in ...

... 2) bunch together - ideally 4 or more is best!, and finally (3) get your bear spray ready. The fact that stuck most in my mind; A bear can eat up to 250k berries in a day - unbelievable!

So, ready for bed, it was indeed with some trepidation that Selina and I wandered back to our Lodge - with the knowledge that Cougars typically attack from the back……suffice to say - it was a very quick walk!

... Matt which Nina took a shine to) were really knowledgable and passionate about bears and the wilderness and taught us loads, and Kristen was an incredible cook who fed us constantly. The 8 guests and 2 guides have meals together round the table every morning and evening which was really nice and we got to know them all pretty well over the 4 days. There were 2 other British couples and 1 Aussie couple so lots of ****-taking. We did a lot of bushwacking ...
