... due to its strategic importance. On 26 April 1941, during the Battle of Greece between defending British troops and the invading forces of Nazi Germany, German parachutists and glider troops attempted to capture the main bridge over the canal. The bridge was defended by the British and had been wired for demolition. The resort has two long jetties on both sides so even if the sea gets rough people can still swim in calm waters. Zeta was the lady who gave me the first pieces of useful information of the round area but Yianni was the one whom I got ...

Not sure what these dogs are about, but they certainly thought they could hit us for a feed.

Finding breakfast was hard, as the Greeks in this part of the world have never heard of bacon ...

... it was Mars anyway). I even made sure of it redness with the binoculars. It was one of the very few times I have actually seen it so clearly because there were no stars around it at all, just Mars. I finished off my evening with my midnight snack, an awesome tuna salad my chef had prepared, and a movie.

After the whole visa incident it seemed as though time was going so slowly. It was only a few more days to go from here but this 14th day of August had ...
