... We were fortunate to have been upgraded to the fifth floor ("a triple upgrade" according to the concierge-perhaps because so few people are staying here at this time). It provides a great view of the sea, up and down both coastlines. ... I discovered Bodrum after breakfast when I set out to walk the town rather than walk the ship.

Boy, did I walk, I think the flat section lasted about three miles and then the path turned up hill. Climbing in the sun, I stopped at a pharmacy for sunscreen which required the last of my Turkish Lira, and kept walking until I reached the top. The marine life wasn't exactly comparable to the dives I'd made in Thailand, the colour theme was more of a drab grey than the vibrant reds and yellows I recalled from my other dives and the first ten minutes were spent adjusting my buoyancy and trying to remember what to do!
