Although we did not get to see them, there are the remains of a 4th century Temple on the acropolis of Lindos and from here you can see St. Paul's Bay where he is said to have sought shelter during a storm. Down to the old city and we walked along the pebble paved streets to the Palace of the Grand Masters. This was built in the 1400s and destroyed in ...

We walked around the old town of Rhodes for a few hours in the morning. You can easily get lost in the winding streets, many of which are partially covered by what looked like buttresses from the walls of the city. ...

We explored the town of Rhodos, which included some nice, albeit pebbly beaches, restaurants and, of course, the original site of the Colossus at Rhodes. Sadly there is nothing left except for stag statues in its place. Despite this, we still had a nice day exploring the nearby crusader castle and the markets that now occupy it. We each purchased a couple of souvenirs and headed ...
