The flight to Kauai went nice and smooth. Not glitches whatsoever. This was the first time I flew on an airline where you had to pay to eat and all they offered were sandwiches. ... Some of the original Hawaiians lived in the steep valleys here that were only accessible by sea; they offered the best protection. You can still see the lava stone terraces that they used for cultivating food.

They provided free beverages. Funny how every group always has one rummy-faced guy who manages to put away a case of Heineken, even on a rollercoaster boat. There was a C with flames logo on his baseball cap! Ha!

... along the way. Some you could see the canyon and others the canyon was all fogged in from low clouds passing through. At one of the lookouts it was clear enough to see the canyon very well, but also another rainbow arching across the canyon. Quite a site to see! ... you can see a much bigger hole that water comes into, but no sounds and no high geyser. While driving out to Spouting Horn we spotted a beach that had a lot of snorkeling going on so we stopped on the way back and snorkeled there for a while.
