Traveled today from Grand Portage, MN to Bemidji, MN. On the way, we missed Betty's Pies. The parking lot was packed full, no place for the truck and coach.

Bemidji is the home of Paul Bunyan and his blue ox Babe. We checked out the statue by Lake Bemidji while on our way to dinner. We will spend the overnight here and head to Detroit Lakes, MN tomorrow.

The waitress was very nice, but I clearly didn't fit in. There were 8 or 9 hunters in hunting gear sitting at the bar that gave me odd looks as I came it. CC was the only "compact" car in a parking lot of hunting ...

... Grace Penelope Smith (GPS) would get confused. But we made it here by lunchtime.

Bemidji is known as the first city on the Mississippi. The most interesting thing in the city is all the sculptures around the town center. It was fun exploring what each corner had. I included a few of them in the pictures. This city is also famous for their Paul Bunyan and Babe ...
