... and CC would be able to get in. The lady on the phone informed me they hadn't plowed because they didn't even get an inch of snow. I couldn't believe it. All day I had been hearing reports about how bad Northern Minnesota was from the Polar Vortex and they had only gotten a dusting at Lake Itasca.
Anyway, I arrived at Lake Itasca and it is beautiful. My next post will be about tonight's adventures. They were a lot of fun.

Highway 38 or 'The Edge of the Wilderness Scenic Byway' is 47 miles long and ends in Effie. I had the hood down, sunglasses on and took it all in crusing along at 40-45 mph. There was hardly any traffic to distract from this wilderness where birch trees were dominant.
