... brinjal bhaji, pithale, varan all piping hot along with side dishes of papad, salad, thecha and buttermilk. This was really home made on earthen stove (chool) with peculiar village style and with aroma of smoke. After dinner, we enjoyed a camp fire lit for us. It was quite cold so this fire was required to warm us up. Then we went in the hut and played cards again before retiring to bed.

... we persevered. They were both Narayan and my favourite. Jainism was founded in the 6th century before Christ about the same time as Buddhism. The 2 caves were richly carved with multiple figures, columns and lotus blossoms. For those who don't know...
"Prabalgad" means mighty / powerful fort. "Kalavantin" literally means artist but it actually used in various ways... devdasi in some parts, dancing girls in king's court etc
Durg is normally used for forts inside the sea... but here it loosely means watch tower.
So "Kalavantinicha Durg" means "Dancing ...
