    Prince Hotel days!

A travel blog entry by chasebrownlee on May 22, 2015

So we did end up hitting burger king and Brewhaus. Open mic was a smash. Sam sang a few songs and we had some great beer. We also met an Irish dude and his new puppy. Pretty nice guy! He bought a lot of tequila for everyone... We were (well i guess just me) pretty drunk by the end of it. Also had a pretty funny experience with a dude in the bathroom line. Hahaha. The next day was pretty low key. We stayed at Hapuna for most of the day, and hung out at the beach doing our normal ...

... set up tentative daily itineraries marked with different color highlights on a map of the island and she color-coded this with various written materials. She gave suggestions on where to get groceries and where to get less expensive meals and still enjoy some of the special features and events. We found out that it was whale season and the whales could be seen from the Hilton grounds and all along this area coast. I have yet to see them however. She gave us tons ...

Today the main event was the tour to Mauna Kea, but this didn't start until 3:45 in the afternoon, so this gave us a chance to relax in our cottage, cook a good lunch and chill out! We had a little lie in, watched some bad day time tv, and I prepared a nice lunch (balsamic pork steaks and roasted sweet potato - yum). We got our things together and headed for the meeting point for our tour, with Arnotts Tours. There were 12 people all ...

For Halloween, the four of us planned a road trip to the north side of the island to walk through a corn maze, pick some pumpkins, and finish with a nighttime haunted hayride. Pam and Bill rarely go to this part of the island, so it was a perfect choice. It was a beautiful day, with very few clouds, and the two hour ride across the saddle road was smooth and easy. We arrived in Kapaau about 3 PM. This quaint town has ...

We finally made it to the pool today!!! First time all week!
The pool was gorgeous - plenty of chairs, lots of sun/shade/breeze/fun.
We spoke to several families from Chicago to Wisconsin to Washington state. One family was from the other side of the island - Hilo. They come to the west coast to vacation. I guess it would be like us going to Atlantic City for ...
