    ... waterfall of the world is in Venezuela (979 m).After we have explored Waipio Valley, Maria and Line had to get back to Kona which is in the opposite direction of Hilo. Hence, they dropped me in the little town of Honoka'a. There I strolled around for 2.5 hrs before I took the public bus back to Hilo (about 1 hr ride). I Honoka'a I had some nice conversations with local store owners/vendors.

    For Halloween, the four of us planned a road trip to the north side of the island to walk through a corn maze, pick some pumpkins, and finish with a nighttime haunted hayride. Pam and Bill rarely go to this part of the island, so it was a perfect choice. It was a beautiful day, with very few clouds, and the two hour ride across the saddle road was smooth and easy.     ... busy. Kailua-Kona is very different than Hilo. The town sits right on the edge of the ocean. There isn't much in the way of beaches. Just rocky shoreline and lots of hotels. It has a whole different feel, less industrial/residential and more vacation town. Further south along Ali'i Drive it gets quieter and there are some vacation rentals with fabulous ocean views.
