For Halloween, the four of us planned a road trip to the north side of the island to walk through a corn maze, pick some pumpkins, and finish with a nighttime haunted hayride. Pam and Bill rarely go to this part of the island, so it was a perfect choice. It was a beautiful day, with very few clouds, and the two hour ride across the saddle road was smooth and easy. ... be using Highway 200 or Saddle Road - from the description in the book, this road sounds very dangerous to be on. Before heading for the big mountain, I make sure the car is filled up with gas and my stomach filled up with grub... and I can do that all in the nearby town of Waimea - Hawai'i 's own cowboy country...
