Koh Phangan today, the best day we have had for weather since we got here! The beach the ferry went from was gorgeous; the water was like a milk bottle! The ferry was a ferry catamaran, it was like being on a booze cruise. Near enough everyone on there had backpacks and were all young drinking beer! Got off the otherwise not knowing where our hostel was and Ross's hotel, so we got on the back of a truck and had the bags chucked on the roof rack, the driver didn't ...

So today is Matty's birthday. I snuck out yesterday for an hour and got him a few bits. Got him a top he'd been looking at, a little tuk tuk made from a singa beer can, some gold bears and I'd made him a photo book before we left home, he got to open lots of cards too so I think he liked that. We headed down to our new favourite restaurant here called Blue Chair, it's lovely. Think they might get sick of seeing us though :/ Matty had a full English, all the works and ...

... The morning of day 2 was the big one - the deep dive, the first time we'd go down to 30metres. The visibility wasn't the greatest so we only stayed down there long enough to see what happens to an egg if you crack it 30metres under water and did the rest of the dive around 18 or 20metres. It was really cool being so deep and just swimming around looking at all the fish and coral. The second dive was a wreck dive, which was good too, the visibility was pretty bad but we did a few ...

... of the town so unless you are doing the OWC I wouldn’t recommend it just for the location. They have nice rooms but a little bit pricy, they start at BHT 1,000 without A/C. We stayed in a superior room that cost BHT 1,200 without A/C, not worth the price considering the prices in Sairee which are much lower, you can find rooms for BHT 600 over there.

Sights & Activities

Everything in Ko Tao is about diving with prices ranging from BHT 7,500 until ...

... snorkels for 500B and also popped into a local mini mart to have a look at sun tan lotion, but quickly scarpered when when we saw a big mouse run across in front of our feet. We nearly jumped out of our skin! Later that night, after laying in bed for about half an hour we started hearing noises coming from the ceiling. Sounded like something was running around inside the roof of our beach hut. We listened to it jumping around and thought whatever it was may actually ...
