... the north and west, found an amazing sunset view point, called the chocolate bar, and sat with our shakes on some chairs in the water and watched (where I was stunk by some sea-urchins, and cut my feet open nicely) the astounding sunset I've ever seen. Each time we thought it couldn't get any better, it evolved, the colours shifted, the lights lit up more of the clouds and we sat there in silent amazement.. It was stunning.
We also on the last day took a ...

Go on then, I'll do some scuba diving

... between the company and the hotel. We were informed that as the night ferry took eight hours, and this morning's boat "only three," we had to pay the difference in price. I thought this logical, but was outraged when we were told it was 750 baht (about £15). We argued, but were told that we couldn't go if we didn't pay; as we didn't really know where we were, we decided to write this off and annoyed, paid the money. I later learnt that the price of the boat ...

Times when we loved it and times when we worried..

... from all the party noise. So we have picked Haad Salad where we managed to score beautiful bungalow on the beach front and for very low price. The resort was beautiful and peaceful and that’s what we needed- nice relax after full on diving experience. We decided to hire a scooter as it was easier to get around and this way we have managed to see fair bit of island.

Beaches here were amazing and with ...

... to dive". I dive fours time whilst I am there, one of the dives was a wreck dive which was cool although the diving in Malaysia, I must say, is actually way better, never the less I have lots of fun and meet four people whom I hang about with. I get very comfortable one night and get horrifically drunk, the kind of drunk where you can't find where you live, but you know it is one of these damn cottages along the beach ...

The Poison of Koh Phangan

... fears were confirmed when Ryan threatened to drink a magic mushroom shake. Despite our best efforts to put him off the idea, he assured us that “it is good, it’s from the Earth”. Bloody Californian hippies. I explained that fundamentally everything is from the Earth at one stage or another but my attempts to dissuade him fell on deaf ears. Half an hour later, after a few hefty gulps, he turned a whiter shade of pale and his eyes glazed over. We reminded ...

... their friends the following day. They got a hotel room and let us store our stuff and we got a bite to eat. Great food here. So we took an overnight ferry, but changed our minds at the last second and decided to go to the island of Ko Phangan instead. It's great being able to change our plans like that. We have no schedule.

Having no schedule has no left us here, on Ko Phangan for 7 nights. We thought we would stay 4 and now it is 7 ...

Paradise - just what the doctor ordered!

... Rebekah, meeting their friends and hanging out in their beach bungalow. Awesome, awesome day, especially after the grief experienced in Hua Hin.
The next day was the Full Moon party. We visited a dry waterfall/viewpoint then prepared mentally and physically for the night to come. Some crazy stuff was going down at this party - skip rope on fire for example. To be honest I don't remember much... ;)
Recovery was the aim of the game the next day, then off to Cambodia!
Bit more Ko Phangan and Ko Tao

... ok, this is made easy to remember by the phrase 'Bangkok Women Realy Are Fellas'! It was all fairly straight forward stuff but good fun by the end of the day you're knackered.

Day three in the morning was the final exam, it was ok and as I was useless with the air chart thingy, I 'borrowed' some of Kelly's answers and we both got 98%, top of the class baby, swotty mo-fo's. In the afternoon we did two 12m dives. Was soo good to get in the water and very quickly got used to it ...

A paddle trip around Kho Nang-Yuan

... the nirvanic universe as well now due to the enormous amounts of dopamine releasing themselves in my farang mind mixing with the hormonal overload that is a left over from my night with Nong. I pass another fishing boat, a few ragged kids emerge to blatantly stare at me, "bon bon, mister, please", I hear before paddling on leaving Kho Nang-Yuan behind, having done the loop around this privately owned rocky and green set of islets, back on the way to Kho Tao

S.E.Asia - End of the Road (for now)

... the sanctuary of the harbour and out in the Gulf the boat is bobbing around like an apple in a barrel and as they crash against the hull everyone on deck is getting sprayed by saltwater. The boat pitches and bucks like a mechanical horse at a C&W bar and many people have wedged themselves into spots outside doors or under lifeboats to stop themselves from sliding around. Others have just accepted that they are going to get wet and are chatting animatedly, dangling ...
