      ... 8217;s highlight was the day that we rented a golf cart to go around the island on – he was the main driver! One day we had 'Ao Kao Olympics’ where we did various events such as bamboo vault, coconut shotput and bamboo javelin. It was really fun despite my lack of athletic ability!       ... forget you are in Southeast Asia. I spent the first night and the next day just walking around the town, stopping for French bread sandwiches, sweet coffee and other delicious foods that seem so foreign in most areas of Thailand. I also had a great experience in Laos because I chose to stay at a hostel.       Woke at 2.30 am and just couldn't get back to sleep until after 6am- but on the bright side and due to the time difference I had a Facebook and email 'conversation' with some good friends in the UK. I'm still feeling so sad about Sadie and it was good to have some internet hugs.
      We're on the 'wrong' side of the road for the beach but only have to walk a couple of hundred yards to get there. ...
