Khao Lak, Thailand khaolak.scuba... when briefings for dives seemed more in depth than the English version. That said, we made friends with the younger peeps and were invited to a BBQ party with everyone when we got back on land. We were more than happy with the company that we went with.. they did everything they could to help make up for missed dives, catered to my veggie needs, were REALLY professional and very environmentally conscience. Pix and Videos of our time: Krabi, Kho ...

khao lak, Thailand nealinthailand... taken care of at the border....and crossing on Sunday was perfect as we were the only ones in the office! The line of cars exiting Mexico was a couple of miles long, but we just breezed right through. And we're already lost!....well not technically, but we need to get our Tourist Visas and Temporary Vehicle Import permit...which aren't necessary for Baja, but both are mandatory to board the ...
Khao lak, Thailand bormo... I'll prop it up, find some good used books, and let my legs cool off. *update on the above: a few hours later, my legs and upper arms were even more red and tender, so I treated them to cold shower, aloe vera gel, and cool packs. The ankle is much better! It is sore when flexed certain ways, and a little sore to touch, but almost no swelling and minimal discoloration. Amazing! The risk now is reinjuring it to a worse degree since it's weak. Just like I tell patients.
Khao Lak, Thailand julix... sufficiently and then releasing it to soar into the dark sky. There was a lantern for everyone at the wedding. It was a spectacular sight as the lanterns followed each other upwards to form a chain of lights hanging in the hot night air. It was a delightful end to a lovely day. Running out of time on this computer and there's a queue. More later on in the week, [we're off to the Similan Islands for a spot of snorkeling/diving/swimming at 7am tomorrow]
Khao Lak, Thailand parry... That's what we had when we were on the Inca Trail - we had no phone signal there either, but curiously the company took their responsibility for the people who booked on their trek seriously and planned ahead and took a Satellite phone, had a strategy for dealing with an accident. Even through the fog of pain was thinking about the bloody risk assessment again ... So, having established with me that I hadn't just mildly bruised my ankle ...
Phu Toei National Park, Thailand travellingjools... of about $8 US a day within the Old city. On my second day here I was sitting at little restaurant outside and I looked up and saw my friend Michele Bates from Seattle walking down the street! I knew she was going to be in SE Asia around the same time as me and even sent her a note giving her my email before we both left but I had no idea she would wind up in Chiangmai Mai let alone walking down the street while I was on it! As it turns out we had spent alot of time together this week ...
Chiangmai, Thailand hawksman12... I feel very tired. A girl my age approaches me to ask if I'm sick. She says she can take me to sleep at her house. I think it might be some kind of scam, but I see her talk with one of the masseuses, so I decide it's okay and go. I'm very tired, but I can't sleep, even in the giant, fluffy bed they leave for me. The girl is studying English, so I can speak with her easily. Her father invites me to eat with ...
Sukothai, Thailand dirtylee... the stiffness of the bus ride. Sometimes my sense of logic worries me. I got up early. Let me just repeat that. I got up early. I met up with my fellow riders, Colin from England who has wisely relocated to Thailand, Lucien from Germany and his Chinese wife Ma Xin who got married in Nepal recently. I cannot remember when I was last on a bike. I was having slight problems with the whole steering thing to begin with and my curves were rather ...
