... and all pretty well behaved considering....I really fell in love with them when they started calling me Mummy.....I'm getting really brewdy now!! Nick played footie with them and also played the fool, we both heard some of the older kids read (in english of course!), and we also made a height measure on the wall and measured each kid one by one. The guy in charge, a lovely Cambodian called Bunseng, told a little of some of the childrens background....most had ...

... and "trainers" were all doing things at once. Then we got to the tank where we could swim, and we did things like "make the dolphins dance" and "kiss the dolphins." We rode dolphins out and back twice. At one point, Tony and I looked at each other and started to think "how can we free these dolphins?" So, we are back to Bangkok for a couple of days to decompress and then catch our flight to Tokyo... Koh Chang - Little Eden Stay

... Fishing Village, but we want to stay at "Little Eden" in Lonely Beach which is a sort of Hippy hangout area with lots of night parties. We aren't interested in the parties, but "Little Eden," is run by Alex, a girl from Newcastle and her Thai husband, Lek. We visited in the spring for a meal and liked the pretty garden with coconut palms, banana plants, coleus and grass. It is set away from the beach on a hillside below the rain forest and pretty idyllic really. The monkeys come ...

I am sick of being on Buses, however, I have no choice. My visa runs out on the 9th and I must be over the boarder on, or before that date so I don't incur a fine I cant pay. I decide it is easier and cheaper to get a local bus to Trat where I can move on the next day to Cambodia. The bus terminal is 30mins away by taxi and when I get there, I find the bus departs in an hours ...

... there!). Our resort also had a very cool restaurant built out over the sea. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, a bit grey and overcast. Not to be put off, we joined all the other tourists chilling out on the beach and swimming. The next day dawned still grey so we decided to book our elephant trekking trip for that day. We were collected from our resort and taken back around the island and a little into the jungle ...

Ko Chang

After my Friday's early morning arrival Phuen went to work and I slept almost whole day. In the evening we started our trip to Ko Chang, second largest island in Thailand. It took us whole night to get to the island, taking a bus from Bangkok, than two bench pick-up truck and a ferry. We stayed there for three days and really enjoyed it. It looked very quiet since it is rainy season here at the moment thus not so attractive ...

Hitchhiking to Ko Chang

... another night there on my way to Cambodia (which is definitely happening now). Once again I slept poorly last night. The Chang was making it's way through me like you would not believe and regular trips to a shared bathroom is enough to keep the best sleeper awake. Wayne was knocking on my door at 8, giving me enough time to grab a quick breakfast before hitting the street on our way to Ko Chang. We managed to hitchhike our ...

... you're going to have to get used to, though. These people are poor, and they utilize anything they have control over to get as much of your money out of you as they can. When a white person walks up to them, all they know is that you have money and they don't. Just go pay her, get your ticket, and I'll buy you a beer on the island." So I walked up to the counter, counted out my 150 virtually stolen baht and practically threw it at her. I then counted out 50 ...

Nightmare on Secret Beach

... hung with with white blossoms) was home to flocks of mynas, a number of blue kingfishers and some elusive birds whose myriad calls would signal the arrival of the dawn with the most soul-piercingly eerie cries. By comparison, the only birds visibly doing well in the coconut and rubber plantations were large glossy blue-black crows who cawed aggressively at me as I wandered among the crop.

The only other thing of interest on Ko Mak was a wat that, as usual, I never got around to visiting.
