Our visit to Koh Phangan is pretty swift, we stay on the island just two days: one for the full moon party and another one to recover from it.

That morning we leave Koh Tao at 8am, on the ferry to Koh Phangan a few people have already started boozing. Emerging from the crowd is a Scottish guy who is having his own private party. It includes several warm largers and a packet of cigarettes for breakfast and some cheesy tunes ...

... good! Many more to come! I then went straight to the beach and sunbathed for a good few hours which was amazing. What I've been waiting for! With the full moon looming we all headed out for our free dinner and lined our stomachs! They were playing the inbetweeners movie and the entire bar was fixed, particularly from the lads, it was quite a funny to see. After buying UV paint and a giant vodka bucket it was back to the hostel to be painted ...

I really had a difficult time the first time I had to remove my regulator and replace it under water, just like I did in the Great Barrier Reef in February. I panicked and didn't like it. Thankfully, Pete and Sam are extremely patient and Pete took me aside and helped me through the skill a bunch of times while Sam worked with the guys. Once I got it properly for the first time, it ...

... experience. From the ferry we took a taxi ride to another pier and waited for more people looking to go to Haad Tien Bay who we could share a water taxi with (from what we had heard, the only way to get there). After an hour or two's wait and a few beers on the dock, more people arrived looking to get there and we were able to find a 4 wheel drive taxi to share that was headed to Haad Tien. Apparently they are working on putting a road in over the mountain and while it ...

... A wreck dive and a night dive later, we had passed our second SSI course. Our last night was spent with beer and pizza with Tim on the balcony of his flat soaking up the view. It was hard to say goodbye to Elizabeth, Tara and Tim as we had made such a solid group. However us boys and Maxi had a few more stories to make. Koh Tao was one of the best places we had stayed and made more special by the people we met there. It comes highly recommend and is definitely on the list to go back to. ...
