After a relatively short drive from Townsville we rocked up to Arlie Beach and found the Koala Beach Resort hostel which had enough room to put up with our small army of travelers. The receptionist was an absolute gobshite (not the first we've encountered, must be a trend) who took about an hour to get our room sorted. The overnight bus from Hervey Bay was rotten. Trying to get to sleep was terrible, well nearly impossible for me. Between myself and Clodagh I'd say we only got a couple of hours and fat ankles for our troubles!! Arrived about 9am or so and was staying in Koalas again. The Koalas in Noosa and Hervey Bay was luxury compared to this place. It was just a rundown dump with armies of green ants everywhere along with the bed bugs, but we had 2 free days accomodation with the deal so we stuck it out...

We were all up at 6:00am on Saturday the 26th of May for a long drive to Airlie Beach (8 hours), where most people go to sail the Whitsunday Islands. Breakfast was provided by that cattle station. But since the oz bus had over booked, the two girls and I had to wait around until 11, so that the other tour bus would bring us out to the highway, where we would wait for 40 minutes and then be picked up by a magic bus. Arriving at airlie beach i decided to stay in the same hostel as the others on my bus. this being Koalas. everyone else had booked in advance but me not so cleva like, managed to just about get in. i was put in a different dorm to the others but it turned out for the better. the four Canadians had pre-booked a boat trip around the Whitsundays. these are a group of island that are said to have the whitest beached and the clearest of water. i say they are said to have this due to me not seeing ...

This Koala was even worse. They sent us to 7 different rooms that all stunk of pee and mold. After almost 2 hours of arguing (the stay was prepaid via wicked travels) they finally let us go someplace else. Had a good time sailing whitsundays and we were so lucky with the weather! The snorkeling was disapointing.. visability about 1 meter. When we got back we stayed at magnums. Soo much better!!

We went to Be*ches th*t evening *nd before th*t M*rk *nd I went to the l*goon *nd tried to l*y in the sun. At be*ches we met up with some of the people on the bo*t. We went to Shen*****n's Irish pub *nd then to M*m* Afric*'s (which is * club club), *nd I *ctu*lly h*d * fun time there.
