... 2 halloween parties with kids. The parties that I went to were really fun, and the main costumes are vampires, witches, ghosts, or a bloody person.

Michael: It was as busy (well more so for Julie) in getting the costumes ready for Halloween as it is in Canada. I liked that the school celebrated Halloween and the kids were able to wear their costumes for part of the school day. The excitement level for the kids was the same as Canada even if the candy haul ...

... for a walking tour of a very pretty Innsbruck (our hotel is in the center of town). While we obviously enjoyed the sights of Italy, it was great to be in the mountains again and see Bavarian (in this case Tyrolean) architecture.

We took a cable car one third of the way to the top of surrounding mountains. Tried to catch the gondola to the top but ...

... has taken on a whole new challenge for me. I discovered what I thought was baking powder and soda, only to pull out of the oven some very flat cookies. (luckily, kennedy inlaws brought the canadian kind); - there are small parks outside almost every grocery store, which means shopping on my own while the kids play - happy all around.

I am still amazed (and in awe) of the number of children who walk themselves home, and at very young ages (I'm guessing 6 is the youngest ...

... Celeste and Peter shared a tasting platter with a bit of everything on their menu! The serves were huge! See the photos! I thought I would try an Austrian speciality for dessert. I can't remember it's proper name but it's a soufflé. What they fail to tell you and the menu doesn't explain either, that it's "HUGE" and is supposed to be shared between 5 or 6 people. Everyone had a taste and we had to leave about a third of it. ...

Michael - I am the last to write my bit and the ladies have touched on the spectacle of be-speckled cows running through town...I liked the one cow that went rogue and clearly wanted to eat some flowers in a pot that she spied...the horror of adults leaping out of the way was bemusing because the look on their face said: how dare one of the cows actually disturb me and my beer..." There were plenty of portable beer trailers and local shcnapps ...
