... people who skied it in the morning to take advantage of the fresh, I’d have been convinced I had skied into a closed area. It was just so empty!

... and by the second half of day 1 were going right to the very top of the mountain which is over 10,000ft to ski the trails down. On the second day it was extremely powdery and there was a High Avalanche warning which was a bit scary but apparently is still fine to ski if you keep to the trails. The soft snow makes it harder to ski and Billy found himself snow up to his waist after trying his skills on an advanced trail - silly billy.

... at Grammar and we have followed his success over the last few seasons. Marion had been on the junior French Alpine skiing team as a youngster but now lives and works in Canberra. Stephen caught up with him after training and he was delighted to have a chat with him. Certainly surprised to meet someone from Australia who knew his sister.

... they all stood up and were able to ski down the course uninjured. Given the g forces that they absorb when flying down the course I am amazed that they can even stand up!

That afternoon/evening we strolled around Beaver Creek Village and enjoyed the festivities. It was a real party feeling. Champagne tastings from Korbel (California) which we wholeheartedly enjoyed several of. Dinner at the Blue Moose Pizza - Colorado ...

... in this little pocket of land. Basically, it is a collection of rocks, some of which have the words of some of his songs printed. It is a very reflective place, and it has since been extended and a new section has been added, but not entirely completed. We wandered through this new section, marvelling at the way in which the boulders have been placed around a man-made lake. It will be good to visit again in a couple of years to see which ...
