Hotel is a bit tired and in need of a makeover. Good for families and close to themes parks.

Michael "enjoyed" the experience of peak hour traffic and now feels that he is a pro in LA traffic.. It was interesting to see the newer development of a suburban shopping mall built on the more a traditional pedestrian friendly town square but in the confines of a secure shopping precinct. We found a large Barnes and Noble book shop to do a bit of browsing.

We took the shuttle to our apartments which are just off hollywood blvd but as it was 12pm not all our rooms were ready. We stashed all our bags into one room and set off for lunch. It's no wonder they punch photographers and you see footage of them giving the finger to people driving past. Our guide had even been hit over the head with a broom at one point! Turns out being a tour guide is a dangerous profession in America :-) Of all the houses though, the coolest one wasn't even owned by a famous person. ...

Market, this consisted of a couple of fruit and veg stalls, a couple of butchers and loads of take away food, the take away food stalls looked really interesting with foods from all over the globe represented, trouble was we’d only just eaten, so we didn’t get to sample any. Then we had a walk up to Melrose Avenue, advertised in the blurb as “The funniest place to be” it was absolutely amazing, we hadn’t had so much fun since walking around the Farmers Market.
