... My body braces for a cold shock as my naked feet enter the water, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how warm it is. Much warmer than Tofino for sure.

It was a perfect evening surf. Nice sets of 5 ft waves, were broken by smaller sets, making it easy to get out. A quilt of high cirrus clouds cast a beautiful light on the rolling emerald hills, broken by the occasional sand dune or crumbling cliff. Everything about the place felt soft, even the warm waves were soft.

I was really hoping, as I always do, to have a vacant seat next to mine on the flight. My hopes were dashed at the last moment when a gangly British man found his seat next to mine. He wedged himself in; all elbows and knees. We didn't exchange any words until feeding time, which is when I usually choose to voice my thoughts on the provided cuisine.

Kilkenny castle was cool.. I think both Amy and I were a bit castled out by this stage.. but it had a huge ground that it over looked, I just wanted to run the whole way down it. But instead I refrained myself and did a cartwheel instead!! The more I got into this trip the more and more I found myself sounding and acting like my father... oh there's a good shot I'll get a picture of that.. can't ...

He laughed and said - that's what she said last night! Dirty old Irish man - he was great!

... at the tourist office sent us to the Cahir House Hotel where the bartender served us a wonderful three-course meal for 19 euro each.

We then drove around a bit more and found another Heritage site to visit, but got there too late. Instead we found a bench by the River Suir and sat for a while taking in the peaceful scene and the scents of Ireland.

Back to Carrigeen we went to read a bit before going to bed at 9:00. We were exhausted but happy rovers.
