... family in a camper van that have no sense of being in nature. The park in practically empty and the park ranger assigned us a spot and shortly after, a noxious family. Usually we get to chose spots, but not here. Their music was blasting, kids screaming, mother shouting, dog barking... actually the dog seems to be the nicest member of the family! Today we left Ruidoso and headed north to spend a few weeks in Colorado. We drove about 5 hours to Lathrop State Park, outside Walsenburg, Colorado. We've been here several times and like it enough to keep coming back. It's pretty hot, compared to Ruidoso--90ish around 3:00 when we got here, but by 6:00, it was really nice out. We're only here for one night and will be moving on ...

... it was time to get on the road.

We are staying at a State park tonight just outside of Walsenberg,CO. It is a beautiful state park and we are able to have our first camp fire tonight. The kids and Kevin are having fun playing “football” but I keep reminding them to stay out of the grass - cacti everywhere!
