... through the towering Apollo rockets of Huntsville, home of the famed Space Camp. Always wanted to go there as a kid. No stopping though…we are behind schedule. Would have thought the double sweetened tea would have sped us up.
Cue Chattanooga. From the gently rolling hills of Bama we were thrust into the foothills of the Appalachians. Towering tree covered cliffs hugged each and every turn on the interstate leading ...

Inca Woman I mean people still dress just as they did 700 years ago, not because of picture taking for tourists like myself, but because they have held to their heritage. Standing in the middle of downtown Cusco was worth the whole trip! As I sat on the steps of the Cathedral,

Sweetwater Decks, John Mortimer We spent some time with John Mortimer, NADRA's immediate past president. What the heck is Okra? The Mortimer's sure got a kick of us not hearing of it before. John and Susan Mortimer have a beautiful home atop a mountain overlooking the valley and in the far distance you can even see the Smokey Mountains. We all owe John a great ...
Sweetwater, Tennessee, United States nadrahqGot up this morning, had coffee and went out to help Kevin weed the garden. I enjoy having my hands in the earth to feel a little more connected to Mother Nature. Got ready and went out for a short bit. Returned home and I started to pack to leave while Kevin and Sam went out for awhile. Upon their return, it was ok for me to stay the night then get up early and head to ...
Knoxville, Tennessee, United States gratitudeWe got up this am and went to church. It was an amazing service with a kinda rock band playing and singing. Very well done. The church did a short video with all ages of kids talking about their moms. I sat and had many tears roll down my face as I missed my kids. This is the longest I've ever been away from home. We went back home and then got ready to go for brunch. We went to a market type place ...
Knoxville, Tennessee, United States gratitudeToday Sam and I went to some second hand shops to do some looking around. I was hoping to find a really cheap sundress as I don't really have anything "nice" for the warm weather. I figured if I could find something for 5 bucks I'd be ok. Sam found some nice tops and a skirt at a steal. Brand ...
Knoxville, Tennessee, United States gratitudeDay 21 Another lazy day. Sam had her lawn done and sofa's cleaned. Watched a little TV and then I cooked supper tonight which I really enjoyed. Made me feel like I was back home cooking for the gang. Did sketti and meatballs. Had an interesting talk with Sam and will be headed off to Florida next. Need a day ...
Knoxville, Tennessee, United States gratitudeDay 20 HAd a very quiet, lazy day. Spent some time talking with Sam during the day and then had dinner and talked with her as she played on the computer. Not much to report today, sorry folks! Am starting to miss home as this is the longest I've ...
Knoxville, Tennessee, United States gratitude... go for the kayak. We camped that night, I think I'm not really made for camping. You get cold and don't sleep too well. Have to pack the tent in the morning, and I even had my breakfast served by the master campers Kurt and Salina. It was actually really nice eating a really big pizza and getting into the car after that.
Tellico plains, Tennessee, United States hmmmaA fast walk in Lynchburg, nice houses. It was the second richest town during the civil was, as a local informed us. Off the highway, "Blue Ridge Parkway" road through the national park (again ok but not anything apecial), Floyd, Sparta, where we went to a bluegrass concert, with all the people (cowboys kind of thing) were dancing like in the movies. Sleep outside Abington, in a highway motel again.
