Sleep in after travel yesterday. A Rainy day today and boys aren't keen to go out, they've been wanting to have some responsibility and time alone so we agreed to leave boys in room to watch TV and relax. We organised lunch across the road, left them some money and our phone number and let the hotel know then headed off to the Metropolitan art museum (the met) for a few ...

With our quick stop in Philly done it was time to move on ... Were going to New York!! Cheapest transport was the greyhound....for some reason they make you get there an hour early as some buses you aren't guaranteed a seat, but they also out you on express services in which you are and don't tell you... Luckily we were on an express, but unluckily didn't really need to be there that early ! A girl t waiting next to me did provide some ...

Further in we come across a group of street performers, we stay and watch, they are very funny. We continue on and find the boathouse. We decide we will come back later for lunch. We ride on, there are so many wide open spaces, beautiful trees and ponds and lakes, and near ...

We sadly farewelled the LaValle family and headed to New York winding our watches forward an hour. It was beginning to snow ever so lightly as we left Palatine and again as we waited to board our flight. Landed at La Guardia Airport and purchased a 7 day, $30 each, metro pass.

Onto a bus heading towards Manhattan. Through Harlem where Halloween celebrations were beginning. Costumed people everywhere - busy, busy, busy. We remembered some of the suburbs ...

      ... hour!

Soon enough we are flying over, or rather around NY! We see Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty from the air. I may be the biggest dag, but I am ridiculously excited to be finally seeing a place I have seen and heard so much about! We land at La Guardia which is the closest airport to the city, but probably the least well accessed by public transport. I have done lots of homework though and when we land, we both buy Metro passes for ...
