    ... mind. We survived.

    We made the trip to Coney Island on Sunday morning. It's like Blackpool. Quite literally - it had funfairs, roller coasters, miles and miles of sandy beach, deck chairs and lots and lots of greasy food. Yuk!

    We only stayed here long enough for Bryan to get some swimming in. It's only 2 days now until his big swim around Manhattan Island so some last minute warming up is in order.

    ... great hotel well located but it was time for a snooze. After a couple of hours nap, we made arrangements to hook up with the Di Mento family for dinner at Bistro Du Coin near Dupont Circle. Two large white wines in our bar before meeting Joe. Nice Dinner and then a subway ride and stroll to see the White House at night. Thats it for day one in Washington. Hoping for better nights ...

    For a supposed advanced country it's interesting that the infrastructure looks to be in a worst state than the UK's and its younger. The Subway is particularly showing its age....
