I came to San Angelo for the first time this weekend to visit my husband who is in school @ Goodfellow AFB for a few months. This is a nice little town. Not too much to do here in town but our little excursions were fun. The caverns were beautiful. So far, its the warmest cave I've been in. It is definitely worth exploring if you're in the area. ... the States it safe to say we've been back once or twice since!! Austin had a really cool, laid back feel to the place with a great music scene and some of the best BBQ joints anywhere. We visited the state capital building (tallest in the USA) and the famous bridge where millions of bats live. ... and believe me there is nothing for miles. There was a song in the 60's called I CAN SEE FOR MILES AND MILES and we absolutely could. The towns are miles (sometimes 30) apart with acres of cotton fields between the towns.

For one stretch of about 20 miles, we drove past hundreds of wind turbines. They were also erecting new electric lines. At one place, I saw them using a helicopter placing the lines on the top of the tower.

... olds dancing to old school songs... The night turned out to be a bit larger than planned and a couple of us were nursing rather large hang overs the next day. Not ideal in 30 plus degree weather and no air conditioning! That evening we watched the sunset from the southern most point of Key West which was pretty spectacular.
