A Day in Seattle

... Views from the top floor were incredible. Next stop was a visit to the University of Washington. Situated on the water, it was an impressive campus.
We then took off for Pike Place Market. This was a huge open air market....fish, flowers, fruits, vegetables....you name it. The market itself was blocks long ...

Leaving Lake Tahoe and California

Out and About hotel

... Horse rides through the country side, a huge zip line coarse, or a natural river fed pool, they had it made. And, they were super nice and let me check out the rooms, use their wifi, and thankfully, play their piano. It's a bit pricey, but how often do you get to wake up in the tree tops! After a few hours I "B" lined it back to the coast. Next stop, San Fransisco.

Funtime at the Fun Farm

... or even a BBQ dinner, etc. Then on Labor Day weekend we had two big parties. First, on Saturday, we had about 25 people at Sami's for BBQ chicken and pot luck dishes and most importantly, for me, was the Costco cake (that I really like and never have a chance to get), so we called the party an 'Un-Birthday Party' and everybody had a good time.

Then on Sunday, we went over to other friends, Patty and Tim's place for BBQ hamburgers and lots more ...

catch up time

... We walked around for a bit at Portland - not a whole lot there either. Decided not to stay there cos we had some time to make up so we kept driving - said we'd stop at 7pm wherever we were haha. So we ended up staying at a super 8 at Creswell about an hour south of Salem. The guy at the front desk was hilarious - he loved our accents so just kept on ...

Highway 101 drive

... up to Seattle, he checked my I.D. over with HQ to make sure I wasn't a felon and told me I shouldn't park here as it's renowned for breakins and meth users. Apparently a supermarket car park is fine to use and is only a few miles ahead. Moved on up there, got the laptop out and found WI-FI!!! Yayyy, free wi-fi in a car park and I can steal it :D Battery then died so went to sleep!

Home

Now that we are home I wanted to share what we have learned about Belize. Caye Caulker is a cool funky little island but tourists beware of smoking pot. We met a guy who got shaken down by the local cop(s) for smoking a joint at the end of a pier. The cop took all the money in his wallet and his weed (probably for re-sale). The local folks seem to smoke it with out much hassle pretty much anywhere. The Ragamuffin' Tour is worth every Penny. You save a bunch of ...

My decisions, goals and plans (lots of reading)

... back with her but my plans kinda changed a bit as my mom had wanted me to fly my cousins home (they were pretty little then too) so I got to ride my longest and last long haul Greyhound ride from Pensacola all the way to Richmond, Virginia where I would meet my 1st cousin whom was stationed at St Petersburg and was leaving a month after I flew her kids home along with her two crazy cats. While I was in Virgina I got to see quite a bit of Washington DC not the way I ...

We almost made it...

October 9...Crescent City in the morning. We almost made it. We hit the road with the new rental car at 4 PM. Had to drive over 300 miles to get to the hostel in the Redwood National Forest by 10 PM. But it became clear that we wouldn't make it. Sally called and they were able to sell our room to somebody else, so we stopped in Eureka, found a little 50's cinder block hotel room, got some Mexican food, and crashed. The drive up was crazy. Oakland to ...
