Montreal, Quebec, Canada tacrocha... fascinating. We saw so much and learned a lot, met some awfully nice people and tasted some toe-curling good food. We are so glad to have had the chance for such an adventure, one which will be engraved in our fond memories for many many years, at least until senility sets in.
Many thanks to those who read our blog and sent in their kind comments ...
... people going elsewhere. Street artists were showing seasonal paintings - snow covered spiral staircases, snow on the streets, snow on the roofs. We truly felt a snow anticipation in the air
Uphill from a plaza was Quartier Latin where we had an evening coffee. Waiters kept asking us in French and we could not shake off a feeling of being in a magnificently unreal place
Several times we saw signs "Come back in May". I wonder...
Montreal, Quebec, Canada globetrottinett... told was a shopping centre,
inside it was huge and I was on the hunt for a Sim card for my
phone. Instructions were to go through to the next shopping centre
and literally it was just this huge underground shopping centre one
after another after another. Coming back I managed to get outside at
the wrong place and was about 3 blocks from the hotel – Anna you
would have been in heaven but sim cards were ridiculous prices so
flagged that.
... in Thailand. Trina and Ethan put the sofa bed up for us in their flat. It was comfortable and we had a good sleep...well, actually, I had a great night's sleep, but I think David suffered as usual with my diagonal sleeping and duvet-hogging! The next day, both Trina and Ethan had to go off to work, we were free to stay in their flat or wander around some more. We decided we'd have a coffee first and then head out for a wander around. We had the coffee.........and ...

Montreal, Quebec, Canada bobtravels... did stroll about town a bit, down to the Old Town by the port. Its sort of looks a bit French but it's not as pleasing to the eye as any town in France I've ever been to. The people were all very welcoming though which is cool, even though my knuckles were all bruised by the end of it. Only jesting. Le corps de la femme a valeur d'ornement, le corps de l'homme a valeur d'instrument. (Gloria Steinem) Will.
Montreal, Quebec, Canada lindsaygauge... them was to show our linguistic diversity. I think Canada is one of the better known officially bilingual countries in the world. Other than that I suppose it was all alright. Notification is mid April. I pretty much have two months to wait. If I had to take a guess at my prognosis now, I would say Alternate List. Well I am tired right now, woke up VERY early. Lates.
Montreal, Quebec, Canada razboneke... whom I hung out with, although his English was very limited and so was my French. St. John the Divine was a very impressive shrine on a commanding hilltop location. I was also impressed with the suburban residences and churches such as in Outremont constructed of granite stone. It was early spring but evenings on the street the temperature was 25 degrees below zero plus wind chill, and much snow was still on the ground.
