My dear friends: It's getting colder in Canada and my thoughts are wandering to warmer climes. On January 12/2010, I fly to Managua, Nicaragua and then work my way north ending up in Cancun, Mexico. We've upgraded our camera and hope to be posting some nice pictures, and maybe even some video on this site.

As you can probably tell from the lengthy period of time since our last post, we have been somewhat preoccupied in the last couple of months with non-trip related complications. To make a long story short, Gustavo has been diagnosed with testicular cancer and so our road trip to Uruguay has been postponed. We are still not sure how serious things are: they removed his right testicle a month ago and got the tumor out, but there may be concern that the cancer has already spread ...
