      ... though I saw no alligators. The guide recommended a walk halfway back to the front gate that was a wooden walkway over the grassy swamp. He really sold it and I knew that's where I was heading next. There was even a picture of it on the park map I'd picked up.       ... more Spanish and Portuguese than English, and I have yet to meet a Miami native. I've met Russian, Swiss, Cuban, Brazilians, French. And a new arrival from New Jersey.

      I've had a grand day! After a nice breakfast with Derek, he headed off to his pre- the-main-conference-day. I'm looking forward to hearing how it went. I headed to the spa and had a well needed (that should be kneaded) massage, followed by a manicure and pedicure. Ahhh!
