        ... we parked up and I jumped out to use the ATM inside the bank instead.

        Back at the motel we ate our (surprisingly good) microwave Chinese meals and saw footage of President Obama making his visit to the Glades on the news. Not content with ruining our visit to the Glades, he was now on TV rubbing it in our faces, wandering around with the Alligators and birds, chatting with the Rangers.

        ... but when water is released at the wrong time it can flood nests destroying eggs! The park was created on 1947 to save the Glades but it's still fighting to survive because it has to compete with growing cities for ever precious water!! Another surprise were the many canoe routes including a 7 day 99 mile route near the west coast of Florida.

        ... couches and chilling areas all outside, and they even had a little waterfall with a swimming hole. Honestly it was a funky little paradise. We used their kitchen to make frittatas for supper and then sat down with a few of the other guests.         ... I booked and bought a sandwich too while I was there. I saw there was a short walk near where I was, so I drove to the camp grounds just a little further down the road. Because this wasn't peak camping season, half the camp ground was shut. And the other end of the other camping area was where the trail started.
