... Words won't do it justice, so I'll just say that I was tempted to simply sit on top of the bald all day enjoying it, and I might have had it not been so windy and chilly. The bald's summit was a few miles before I hit the NC/TN border for the last time and the trail left NC for good, so it was like the state was trying to get hikers to stay by offering the best views of the trail so far.
