I arrived at 3:45, and they were closed by 3pm on Fridays. I called them. I texted them. I finally messaged them on fb. Their serving style is a lot like Smitty’s BBQ in Lockhart in that you pick out your meat at the smoker and then go inside to select your sides and drink, pay, and then sit down on long picnic tables. Can't wait to see the pictures of the finished restoration of their Mustang!

Welp it's 5am and we are off! Woke up to realize my(Shelby) wisdom teeth are coming in whoopee so we will be making a pit stop for some Orajel on the way. But at any rate we are headed that way very early, in fact we got to the donut store before the donuts were even made. There really should be some law about having to be up this early, ...

... armadillo! I hope there will be more.
This is the road trip picture I had in my mind... warm wind blowing in the open windows...Chum yelling "Moo" at the cows...a little singing (me) and being totally without an agenda. I felt really blessed today in spite of some automotive challenges.
This back country road led us through the tiny towns of Jonesboro, Gustine, Hamilton, and past the turn off for Pancake, TX, ...
