Actually, the title to the song "Abilene" is about the Kansas town, not Texas. That's okay as the song still fits here. As I write this, we've been home for several weeks now. It's been hard to sit down and finish this blog once we got back home - and then had to prepare for going back to Austin again for our youngest daughter's 21 Sep wedding.

My husband is from Chicago so he things it's hilarious! Whatever, we have fun!!!!! ...

People may knock small towns but those are people who obviouslyhaven't lived in one. Y'all are amazing and we can't thank you enough. Update: Stopped by the cops on the way....our luck precedes us once again ...

Will they really remember the Alamo? That's debatable. However, I've done my job by showing it to them.
We started the day with a lovely breakfast at the St. Anthony Hotel then walked over to the Alamo...Oddly, right there in the middle of town. In my mind it was out in the middle of nowhere with a lot of dust around. But no, it's right across the street from a Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum and a Guiness Book ...
