... believe this. He has been fishing since he was 8 years old and showed a grace on the water that went way beyond his years.

We worked hard - nowhere to hide in a small group of 3. Our final session was on the Battenkill River - the spiritual home of New England fly fishing. The weather was not kind - very wet and misty. None of us caught any fish but a good time was had by all. And yes, I did "get it"!

... diesel at a tank outside- we will bring our gerry cans since it's not too far from the wall. Mechanicville is a convenient stop- you don't even really leave the channel you just push off a bit to the side and onto the wall. There is a lot of wake from passing boats but luckily for us there has not been much traffic at all and the locks close at 6 pm anyway. There looks to be an Italian restaurant or two ...

... campground. The couple that own this place really take pride in keeping this place in good shape and it shows. Seems like the park does get some visitors as their are 'black bear' signs posted telling folks not to leave out food/secure any garbage receptacles....yikes!!!
