The friendly locals greet us as we leave the plane. I didn't have much trouble understanding but I could see Ella screwing her face up trying to understand what they were saying. We are staying in the OKC Residence Inn Downtown Bricktown. It is a really cool area across from the baseball field on a river-walk that leads to a mall like area with restaurants and a movie theater. Couldn't have picked a better location in OKC. Food Network Diner

... been featured on Food Network (one of my fave TV channels) so that made it even more special. It was a quinessential old style diner and, as we have noticed every where in the South, the people were so friendly and enjoyed chatting with us. They always want to know where "ya'all" are from and headed :) It was another perfect Historic Route 66 moment!

We enjoyed the rolling hills of Oklahoma noticed it had the beautiful red soil like Georgia and Kaua'i.
