So glad to be back in Canada – we were instantly aware of
the differences! The first big difference we noticed was the better road surfaces. For some reason, the eastern states use concrete rather than asphalt paving. It is
hard and bumpy, with regular cut lines in the concrete acting as expansion

while Tom, Chris, Pepe and Bernie went fishing for a long weekend. I was lucky to be able to spend some quality time with Katie, celebrating her 9th birthday a little early. You're a quick learner with the game of cribbage, Katie.

Anyway, the rest of the journey was fine, despite a minor panic in Toronto Union Station when I couldn't find anybody I was supposed to be meeting (it turned out that they were waiting in the wrong place!), and meeting my long lost family all over again was really exciting!
