This disembarkment was a great inconvenience, especially for many of the elderly Portuguese passengers who were returning home to Toronto after spending the summer in their native land. The work crews must have done their jobs quickly because in about 60 minutes they were calling those who had got on in Lisbon to start re boarding.         It was raining, so I couldn't really pay attention, but the architecture at the border was pretty cool to see. It was super old. The tunnel reminded me of this movie I saw where people got stuck in this tunnel under the water, and it started leaking. Luckily, we made it through without a hitch.         All ready to go. Camper is packed, new truck sparkling, cb radio hooked up, GPS with up to date maps, rules left with the boys, weather cloudy but no rain, mug full of tea, went to the bathroom - yup, I think I'm ready. Just need Chris!!

        ... went to bed last night it was so cold that I wore my toque and gloves. I regret nothing.
        - My retirement beard is coming in nice and thick.
        - We made our first legit meal over an open fire and had steak fried up on aluminum pie plates along with baked potatoes and shelled peas. Sounds ghetto… and it was. We thought it was going to be a disaster but it was delicious!
