    ... Spencer was a bit apprehensive at first (memories of La Pal I think?) but loved it from then on. Other highlights of the day were the Matterhorn and Big Thunder railroad.     ... the main road and the right bus and we were off to Santa Monica. I really wanted to see the beach and the pier. Unfortunately the bus we were on terminated 4 km short of the beach. We waited for about 30 minutes for a bus to arrive, and started walking a bit. Only made it a km before we waited at the next bus stop. We eventually got to the beach and it was worth it.
