Today we decided to go to Grabill, about 15 minutes drive Northeast. Grabill has a large Amish community (10th largest in the USA according to wikipedia) so I thought it would be cool for Darren to experience it and see if we could go horse and buggy spotting!!
We managed to see a few horse and buggy's on the way in...it was a pretty quiet place so we parked up and walked to 'The country shops of Grabill' which is a huge flea market type store. ...
... proof of ID, insurance for truck and then we should be able to order plates and get it all sorted....however as Darren doesn't have his green card yet or any official documents to show he is a permanent resident they told us we could not do this (we had both our names put on the title at the dealer as it made more sense for other reasons....not knowing it would cause us trouble now!!) She said to go back to dealer and ask him to take Darrens name off title and then do it all ...
Since Friday we have been ordering more bits and pieces for when we head off so nothing super exciting again...we will try our best to be more exciting!
Friday evening we headed over to the bar/restaurant that Luke used to work in and also Jane. Some of the people that work there were at their wedding in St Croix. Jim came and joined us for a few drinks (he was the guy that actually married Luke and Jane!). ...
... little chipmunk jumped up into the bin. Chipmunks are seen as pests here so I did get some odd looks as to why I was trying so hard to get a picture. I think it's kind of strange to them that we would pay money to buy one as a pet in the UK. Anyway I still think they're cute so enjoy the picture.

... have to wait for a form to be posted to us first...at least we know now. So I figured we might aswell not make this a wasted trip and asked to take my theory test - I had brought all forms etc needed as I was contemplating this. They sent me straight to a computer where I had 4 hours to answer 50 multiple choice questions (it took be right back to doing it 8 years ago...tests are never fun!). I kind of wanted to see if I could pass without studying and ...
