It was sad to leave island life, but we are all so excited for India!
One of my friends planned a trip for 30 of us to fly to the Taj Mahal and
travel around a bunch of cities near there.
Congrats to Pat on his great LSAT score!!

... you can do at the beaches! There are many beaches in Mauritius some of the most popular beaches are at Pereybere, Flic-en-Flac, Tamarin and Mont Choisy. Now, your purpose of visiting the beaches of Mauritius is the most important. If you have come to just relax, then spend time on the beach just by having a walk or a romantic walk with your partner. Or simply lay down on the white sand of the beach reading something ...
Mauritius, Mauritius panacheholiday... laialdase suhkruroo kasvatusega, mis on tänaseni Mauritiuse suurim tulu- ja ekspordiallikas. Kolonisatsiooni tagajärjel hakkas hollandlaste valitsemine allamäge veerema: orjad üritasid põgeneda, toimusid piraatide rünnakud, levisid haigused ja ka loodus raputas neid oma tsüklonite ja üleujutustega, mistõttu 1658. a lahkusid hollandlased saarelt. 1664. a otsustasid nad, et Mauritius on ikkagi hea peatuskoht enne Indiat ning uue koloniseerimiskatse käigus hakkasid nad ...
Flic En Flac, Mauritius pille... and a few other people, but it turned out that there were going to be more people there then we were comfortable with and we thought it was going to get a bit too wild. So, we opted to rent an apartment for a little more money, with less people, thinking that it would be safer... poor decision. The apartment was not the greatest and I ended up sleeping on a bamboo slat couch which was incredibly uncomfortable. In addition, the French tourists upstairs ended up ...
Flic En Flac, Flic En Flac, Mauritius hepstein1... island wasn't exactly like the rest of my destinations. There wasn't very much culture to absorb and many of the inhabitants spoke English. It was a pretty touristy beach area that is known as a popular honeymoon destination. The villa we rented was pretty nice, especially considering how cheap it was. The "resort" was in a rectangular shape with every villa facing a pool in the middle. Many of the students had their villas here and this was probably the hot spot on Flic en ...
Flic en Flac, Mauritius mgloth... do a better job and he gets his medicine before finally "letting" me leave. I take another aspirin and am in bed contemplating what I will do tomorrow. Stay in this area and enjoy the fact that these people think I'm a king, or drive to another locale to explore the island? Maybe I'll drive and then return tomorrow night if my reputation doesn't precede me up north... either way, I need to stay out of the sun! Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!
Flic en flac, Mauritius madman96... sun, would you believe and drink the beers on the rocks we brought. Dearest Hubby gets us lunch and more beers in the afternoon. We are our usual lovey-dovey which results in a 'you can see they are on honeymoon' of our neighbors. In French, of course. Since we always speak English together I can overhear lots of conversations, while people have no idea I understand them. We ...
Flic En Flac, Mauritius tonyandmarina... a hurricane in the Indian Ocean. Coming off of South Africa the waterfront was a bit dull, but the arrival was still beautiful. The waters were as blue as the Bahamas and there were big green mountains that set the backdrop. Once we docked, we had to take a water taxi across the bay because of the half moon shape. This was the first and only port in which we had absolutely no plans and so after taking the water taxi the 9 of us headed straight to a travel agency to book a hotel or villa ...
Port Luis, Mauritius snhal24... us in the middle of the stern seat. The sea was pretty choppy, but with the breeze on the quarter, we made pretty good time, with a minimum of fuss, apart from shipping a wave through the scuppers which soaked the bag of the girl next to MP. At the wharf, were directed to the first cab off the rank, for a reasonable R75 and a friendly driver of European extraction. Tells us all his father's brothers went to Australia in the 1950 ...
Port Louis, Mauritius diannemurray... in the tiny island. .... Yes, it' TINY - 45 km in width and 65 km in length, just a dot in the Indian Ocean as seen in navigation map on the flight as one takes off and rises to a considerable height. The Indian peninsular is a HUGE landmass in comparison. .... But, it's people seemed very LARGE hearted, are very warm, friendly, speak French (Creole actually) are vibrant and yet very laid back. By now, you might have had a chance to view some pictures I sent you in a ...
